Terms of Service

Overview
These Terms of Service govern your use of Basewiser software, this website, and any consulting services provided by Basewiser. By using our software or services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our software or services. Basewiser is operated by Anders Wigemyr Bakken, Norway. Contact: contact@basewiser.com.
Software licence
Basewiser software (including CA Policy Vault and Identity Health Monitor) is provided under a commercial licence. Upon purchase or agreement, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to deploy and use the software within your own Azure tenant for your organisation's internal purposes. You may not: • Redistribute, resell, or sublicence the software to third parties • Remove or obscure any proprietary notices • Use the software to build a competing product or service • Deploy the software for more tenants than covered by your licence
Self-hosted nature of the software
Basewiser software runs entirely within your own Azure environment. You are responsible for the infrastructure it runs on, including access controls, cost management, and compliance with your organisation's policies. Basewiser does not have access to your tenant, your data, or your Azure resources at any time.
Consulting services
Consulting engagements are governed by a separate statement of work or service agreement agreed upon before work begins. In the absence of such an agreement, these terms apply. All consulting work product delivered to you becomes your property upon full payment. Basewiser retains the right to reuse general methodologies, frameworks, and non-confidential knowledge gained during an engagement.
Payment
Fees for software licences and consulting services are as agreed in writing. Invoices are due within 30 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. Late payments may incur interest in accordance with applicable Norwegian law.
Warranties and disclaimers
The software is provided "as is." Basewiser makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or freedom from bugs. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve reported issues in a timely manner, but we do not guarantee any specific response or resolution time outside of a separately agreed support contract. Basewiser software is a security aid, not a guarantee of security. It is your organisation's responsibility to maintain a complete security posture.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Basewiser shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our software or services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Basewiser in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any non-public information shared during an engagement. This obligation does not apply to information that is publicly available, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law.
Termination
Either party may terminate a licence or engagement with 30 days written notice. Upon termination, your right to use the software ceases. Sections covering confidentiality, limitation of liability, and warranties survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway, with Oslo as the agreed venue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the software or services after changes have been notified constitutes acceptance. For existing licence holders, material changes will be communicated directly.
